Studying Politics

In 2018 I have followed a number of City Council meetings including the BPS budget meetings, most Boston School Committee meetings, and the education budget process in the state.

I have been thinking a lot about the viability of the proposals that I create, asking:

  • Does this idea solve a problem?
  • Would this idea have enough support to move forward?
  • Can it be funded?
  • Is it ethical?
  • Is it reasonably simple to set up?

The other area that I have been working on is researching what happens in our state, and other states regarding public policy.

Also I am learning how to find out if a law is already in use and what can be legislated and what can not.

I thank New Urban Mechanics, City Councilor at large Annissa Essaibi-George and State Senator William Brownsberger for helpful advice and guidance in this process of learning how to turn ideas into actions.
